How are you going to prop it correctly??? 150hp shot is worth about 800rpms. You would either be lugging the engine with a bigger prop and w/o the NO2 or over reving with the NO2. 150HP gain should give about 8-10mph on the top end.

As Griff said, where are you getting the extra RPM's from? If your 502's redline at lets say 6000, and you are proped for 5400, you can make it work. By using NOS's Launcher Progressive Nitrous Controller with the optional LCD touch screen, you could set the power level and how long it takes to be "all in". That would be eaiser on the drives and the motor. Once you know how much you need for how long, it should be pretty easy!

just go blower

I ran it for a year on a 525hp 454. never had a problem with it just would run out of it ! (NOS) Had a 10 gallon tank with race fuel that injected with the nos. never hurts the drive because your already at full throtle. It was kinda of kool though ! The last run I used it on we were neck and neck so I never let off the button. The first shot was always the best. Oh ya and the time I was neck and neck and forgot to open the bottle. I looked down for a second and thats what I was second !! The next year I went to a 250 B&M blower and never looked back.!!

i ran nos back in the late 80's in my 24 challenger. it was a 454 mag with different cam and roller rockers. i had a good time with it but don't really miss it much either. i had a hard time getting out of the bottle when i used it. it was fun though and i would usually prop for race days. race days meaning when i was out to kick some ass. the boat ran a solid 72 w/o and 79 with. never had any problems with the internal engine parts however i always worried when using it. i do however remember torching off the end of a spark plug once. it was one of those moments like mentioned above and way to many buds. there was no other damage anywhere else. must have went right out the exhaust. back your timing off a little also before you plan to use it. you should also faten up your carbs a little.

have fun. GO BABY GO......

nos

thanks for the replys prop wise i can turn a bravo 1 24 to 5100 so i thought i could spin it to around 6000rpm and get that 80 mph mark i run 72-73 now its a old formula 1988 242ls or i can still try a 26 for those top end days.and i think its a 1 degree drop of timing per every 50 hp of nos so retard 3 degrees of total

Just the sound of the motor on NOS is something people talk about. When you go from 5200 to 6 grand in a mater of seconds it's what sticks in there minds. don't run it with out race fuel in your tank !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do i need to run race fuel in my main tank? i always run 91 and would rather not have to run race fuel, maybe only a 100hp shot on 91. i guess i could aleays add a small 5 gallon tank with race fuel and add that with nos, sounds like a lot of crap to hook up though. do you know how much fuel is added with nos? how much fuel would i have to have to add with nos 1-5 gallons?

You will need the progressive controller for a shot that big. Otherwise you will start breaking stuff, and if not then you might even spin the boat out.

We have it running on a couple boats down here and really no issues once everything is hooked up right.
