Thanks guys for your help. I have a long way to go . Till I see the water. My engine has no water pump, raw pump, power steering pump, ect. Is there a diagram or web site to show me how all the parts and brackets go on the engine? Here is what I'm starting with.

I have a edelbrock dual plane 2+0 #2161 also a holly marine 750 double pumper both are new, saw the lake twice this summer. I bought blower motor and wont be needing them. I will sell for 70% of jegs price. carb has stock jets and has never been touched. they are perfect. [email protected] 432 557 5578

Thank you for the offer. But I just got a intake and carb off E bay. I need a power steering pump and bracket. If anyone has a fairly cheap one.

I agree, the heads are far too small to gain any measureable horsepower gains, (real horsepower) however retrofitting to hydraulic roller setup is ur best option, along with a good intake and 750 holley, this way, the max gain can be achieved with still a mild cam profile and u won't wreck the bottom end performance, concentrate on increasing torque as it's unlikely you will be able to rpm this engine much over 5000, i suspect it with fall off there or just before that... i have water pump, (short) and a seawater pump with pullies, etc... let me know if that helps you, I had to upgrade to multistage seawater pumps, and now running grossovers in place of circulation pump... that's why i have these both are in great shape, swpump had a new impeller in it when I took it off... you'll find my contact info here... www.akracing.ca

I had the same motor and wanted the same thing. First thing I did was start with exhaust. I bought revolution exhaust and changed out the intake to a performer and a 750 eldebrock marine carb. I also removed the y-pipe and while I had the motor up I changed it over to a hi-vol oil pump. The boat ran better just a couple of mph and that is it. The next year, I pulled the motor and installed the 420 cam large ovals with big valves bored it .030 over and balanced it ran hyper coated pistons. She ran good picked up a little more. It ran for over two years until I had an stock oil cooler line fail and wiped the crank. I even ran it for 100 miles at 5-5500rpm's with no trouble.
I am now a internally balanced forged rotating assembly stroker 496 bigger valves ported large ovals custom cam DUI ign sea demon 850 she runs real nice now.

You will want to get a marine distributor, carb, alternator, starter. There is a difference, auto parts in boats can make it go BOOM!!! Good luck with your project.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm buying marine parts for the boat. It is freezing here in New Jersey. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected tonight. Can't wait for spring. Now the boat sits.
