merc hard steering
helping a friend with a hard steering 5.7 alpha, has good fluid pressure from pump at the steering ram, and ram will actuate properly with air pressure when removed, but with cable on steers very hard, like assist not there. cable turns very hard by itself so i'm leaning to cable, but would think that p/s would still work if cable going bad. boat is 2002 so not super old to need cable, but possible?
