Oil Pressure issue
Big Block 454 start up and under normal conditions pressure reads 80 PSI. I think and feel this is too high. If this true what can it be. I havent lost power. Can anyone help?

The wire to the sender may be shorting to ground somewhere. Disconnect it and see if it goes to zero.If it stays at 80 then it is shorting to ground or the gauge is bad. If it goes to zero when disconnected with engine running then it is either the gauge or sender. Sender is cheapest and easiest to try first.
Does it stay on 80 with the engine off? If so try tapping on the gauge.

The best test is to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Most mechanics will have one in a tool box for quick checks of oil pressure.
80 PSI is high but will not really hurt anything other than wear out the distributor gear a little faster.

Pressure Issue
One last question. Where is the sending Unit? It is not on the top of the intake like Small Block Chevy. I already bought a manual gauge to test the pressure. I do appreciate the Help!!!!!!

Usually on the block right above the oil filter, unless your oil filter isn't block mounted. At the rear of the engine down low on the port side. One wire connected to it.
