Default Prop Question

My boat is a 29 Laveycraft with a 500 EFI, Bravo 1 XZ drive it has a 26 pitch Bravo 1 with a flo torque hub on it now, that is supposed to be just right at sea level. I was thinking I would like to get both a 22p and a 24p. Most of my boating will be at 7500 msl. But also will be going to Powell alot (3600 msl). I was looking at props and they come with solid hubs and the flo torque hub. It looks like the flo torque hubs are for 400 hp and less ? I think my boat has about 415 hp. Do I need to have a solid hub?

A 500efi is way over 415hp. What rpm are you turning now? What mph? I couldn't going down to a 22p. You will lose a lot of top end. And those hubs are fine.

Oops yea the 500 EFI is rated at 470 hp. I'm not sure what rpm or what mph I'm doing. I just was told that it was running a 26 p at sea level (73 mph on gps). Now I'm going to be running at 7500msl and 3700 msl. Was thinking a 22p would be good at 7500msl and the 24 at 3700msl?

They rate it at the prop and they are conservative. You need to get some baseline testing before anyone can truly say what you will need to do. Like I said I can't believe you will need to go down to a 22. I understand you are trying to keep rpm's up but that doesn't always equal performance when you cut here pitch down so much. YOu would pick up 300+ rpm with a 24.
