Power Steering Pump Conversion
I'm wanting to change from my Saginaw style PS pump to a KRC Marine pump. My WOT is 5200 and my Crank pulley Dia. is 6.625"
KRC offers their marine pump with a 3.5" pulley which makes the pump speed 9464, 464 above the max. With their 6" pulley they caution me I "MAY" have docking issues due to low pump speed.

Anyone using this pump? What are your particulars?
This pump is VERY similar to the Hardin "Extreme" PS pump, which has a KRC pulley on it in the photo on the Hardin web page. I just need to see if anyone is using either of these pumps and do you have any docking issues?

I am not sure of the pump I have, but it looks like that one, I do have issues with it at idle only. With the boat out of gear it is fine, as soon as I am in gear it is a pain the the ass.

krc makes a aftermarket output pressure fitting to raise the pressure at idle. call tech they will get the right pump made for you. Also try PSW out of fort worth tx they do only ps pumps and brackets
