I have already had my gimble and all the bellows replaced just want to tighten things up and have a little more control as my boat does reach the 80mph mark on gps. since I have added more hp.. again thank you for replying.
How big is your boat? If it's a smaller boat I would get the single ram full system and call it done. It costs about the same as the dual ram add-on. My last boat I upgraded from a add-on to full. The full to the helm made a huge difference.

Oh, and as far as the original question, I didn't have a remote reservoir either and never had any issues.

My boat is a 28ft and this weekend I ended up installing the dual ram add on system. I tested it yesterday and the drive is now solid. I am going to get the helm and the rest of it as soon as i same up some money.

I know my inside steering kit came with a banjo fitting to be installed on the high pressure output. They may be talking about drilling into the pump itself. Don't know, I havn't taken my old fittings out yet to look for myself. I'm in progress of this install myself. I had to get the dash filled as I had some swiss cheese when I pulled off the old mechanical helm. Wasn't the first time that was changed I guess.......

It is were the high pressure line screws into the pump. It will help with flow out of the pump.

What's the best way to get the metal shavings cleared out of the pump?

It's a fitting that unscrews from the pump. You don't drill it while its still installed in the pump.

Interesting, i'll have to take a closer look at my pump tomorrow. I thought at first glance that the fitting was welded to the housing........
