You need to install a vented loop if you still get any siphoning going on.

I've got a one way in my boat for the bildge as well. I have my bildge line and pressure relief teed about a foot away from the dump. When I first was looking at buying my boat the previous owner didn't have check valve, and half the water from the relief was going right back down the bildge line and filling the bildge. I went to West Marine and picked up a the valve. Been working fine ever since.
