I bought the Diodes from Radio Shack..do they need to go one way or it dosnt matter?

Yes it matters, think of a diode as a one way valve for electricity. The gray line goes towards the side you don't want the electricity to bleed back from.

This is the one I got, easy install, cheap and looks good, if you take the round "plate" out of your throttle control this fits in perfectly, I ran the wires in plastic loom down the shaft of the throttle...........

Seems very tight and front part with red ring is rubber?
I have zero effort. Trim switch coming anyday.
