Default Smartcraft compatible external speedo pickup

Looking at putting an external speedometer pickup on a customer's boat that is equipped with a Bravo III DTS and the smartcraft speedo sensor. Has anyone done this and what brand of external pickup did you use or can you recommend? Thanks for the info guys!

Best I can tell it needs a GPS speedo sending unit that merc sells. I think you can also get a merc junction box and get the speed reading from your gps/chart plotter.
