You are right,420 did run gil .I was thinking 370

370's and 400 cyclones did have iron manifolds

For about one year, the 420s had a cast iron HIGH PERFORMANCE manifold system. It was HUGE. and HEAVY. There were 6 bolts holding the riser elbow to the manifold. They flowed well, but known to be leakers at the wet joint. Merc ditched them and went to Gil.

I had early 400HP Cyclones. They had 3 inch rear exit log manifolds. Later they switched to the standard center rise iron 4 inch style stuff on the 370's.
