Power upgrade CHAPARRAL 256 SSI 6.2 mx ---) 502 MPI GM Gen vi upgrade Rebuild advice
Hi
My name is Mick from Belgium
I have a CHAPARRAL 256 SSI 2006 with std 6.2 mx engine 320 hp from 5 year now.
It s a great boat with big space ...,I would like more power.
last winter i have buy a GM 502 mpi G VI ,
I have put the engine on it , 1 h later i heard a connecting rod problem... the 6.2 engine comme back in for the summer
I would like your advice/ experience for find the good parts combo for a great reliable engine upgrade rebuild with more power / good prop setup.
In parts --) :
-i have a bravo one stern drive with 4 blade 26, and bravo 1 22p prop
-my original bravo 3 stern drive 26p prop.
I will rebuilt all the engine.
i search the good way for more power
-looking fir new crank, forged connecting rod /rotating assembly kit.
-New camshaft ?
-Stroker ?
-Blower ?
-More RPM ?
i have a set of new std exhaust manifold

I know a guy who put a Procharger supercharger on his 256 along with headers and a Bravo 1X drive. He was seeing a top speed of 70. With a stock 496 mag, top speed is 53-55. 496 H.O. around 60-63

wow, with 70 mph i will be verry happy
I look for 60 70 mph pump gaz. with good reliability for a summer with no problem.
--- good crank/ rod /piston. and add a blower.
--- stroker crank / rod, bump compression with exhaust
---) litle porting head and matching intake my self
what is the max rpm safe for this engine ?, with stroker ?
i built many engine for european car but a have nerver touch a BB v8 us.
i don t have anny experience on this engine ,all help for built a great setup will be aprecied

i will go to the 540 stroker air aspired engine.
Power objectif is 480-550 hp
I will assemble the engine myself and have the machine work done.
So If I can stay under 4000-5000 $ for parts
anny advice on a good setup /price ?
-Exhaust manifold or stock , ?
-Rotating assembly kit with balancing ?
-lifters, push rods, valves, springs, rockers
-cam ?
-stock head is good ?
-ecu upgrade ?
