Where can I get a jig to drill the holes for my Bravo transom assemblies? Never done this before I do not want to just try and drill them by hand.

The cut out was done by the fiberglass shop but not the holes for the studs.

Heading to GA today, want to maybe do this the 3rd week of Jan.

Ayuh,..... I guess $280.00 ain't tooo bad,.....

I've got an ole aluminum piece of transom, with All the Merc bolt hole locations, from the very early closer pattern, to the latest Bravo/ Alpha Gen.IIs,....

I lay out the holes with that, 'n use one of These to punch the holes with my cordless drill,...

Done quite a few transoms, without issue,...

Problem is no old transom laying around but if I expected to do this a lot I may do something like that.

Not going to be easy with the hole already cutout. The merc jig is meant to bolt in right in the middle to line up and hold.

I bought one here. Used it and passéd it on in the swap shop.

Hmmmm didn't think of that.

I guess I can try to come up with some type of clamp to the inside of the engine bay.

Piece of cake. A couple of c-clamps to hold it in place clamping thru the cutout. Could also drill 1 hole thru. Install a bolt thru it and nut it, then do a 2nd and bolt it tight. That way it won't move on ya. Then just drill the remaining holes and steering opening.

Hopefully the glass shop didn't follow your old cutout.

No wouldn't have to worry about drilling the holes then, just slip bolts through the cutout!

Just a thought. You could insert a piece of all thread into the jigs middle alignment hole and use a piece of 2x4, with a hole drilled in the middle, to use inside transom to span the cut out and tighten nuts at both ends to make it clamp to transom.
