Default Duplicate gague set question

I am considering installing duplicate gauges in the engine compartment. Water temp-oil preasure-tach.
Can i just wire 2 water temp/oil preasure gauges to the existing senders or do they need individual senders per gague?
Currently have older vdo, circa 1987, duplicate gagues are the same.
Thanks in advance.

Senders are different ohm. You need to replace them with 2 station senders

Ayuh,..... What I did was leave the electric senders, for the dash gauges, 'n put a little Mechanical gauge set on the motor,.....

Just coil up the water temp sender, as the shortest lead I've found is 6' long,...

That's what I would do. That way you can have total system back up instead of working off the same sender that may have gone bad.

Looks like 3 options
1) install double pole/double throw toggle switch for either/or gague selection
2) change senders to dual units
3) install additional senders. I also like the idea of redundancy if a gague reads abnormal there is a second independant set to verify gague/sender problem or a real issue.
I will also be installing a second tach and a remote start button.
No more need to be in two places at once.
