Does anyone know what brand if any of the braided lines are USCG approved? Doesnt have to be the stainless line I was looking at the black braided (dont know what the braid is made out of) but earls and a few others make it but heard it is not USCG approved.

I knew what he meant I`m still with 4pointstar... who cares. When it comes to running lines last thing I`m wondering is if it`s approved . I have both in my boat as do a lot of other folks. Last time I was stopped by the Coast Guard they weren`t checking my braided lines for compliance lol

coast guard may not ask but the insurance co. will if it burns down. as far as I know none of the braided line are approved.

They are FAA approved but not USCG , if it was to burn or have some type of claim and the insurance investigated and found they were installed your claim could be denied then you are responsible . Just like having a GM HEI dist. from a car or truck in your engine and something happened they can tell you TUFF sh_t its your baby and they dont have to pay even if it didn't cause the problem to begin with. I don't want to take that chance with my boat or having to pay for any damages that it may have caused , my pockets are not that deep . That is why I asked the question if anyone had found the lines that are USCG approved. I realized a lot of guys run them without any problems I run them on my race cars and never had a failure.

I remember someone posting some a few years back that were approved so I think they are out there.

A braided line that is approved???
I mean I can see using a approved fuel fill hose but IMHO if its a braided fuel line its a whole lot better then a simple rubber line. As for water and oil lines is there even a rule? Ya, you don't want to use a plastic bilge pump hose on a oil filter line but if its better then what came out of the factory I wouldn't worry about it.
