Default Old school throttle conversion HELP

Hey guys I wanted to swap out original throttle assm to new set up. i have the merctrans with the electric shift and would like to keep unless there isn't any way to use the new shifters in this manner otherwise I can always run cables or just keep current set up but would rather not. I haven't taken the old throttles out yet to see what exactly activates the selonoids on the merctrans.

Any insight would be great.

Tks John

Know that I read that I recall seeing it years ago however forgot about the issues with them. Will switch to cables for sure. Just need to place a wanted ad for cable brackets. Will need cables regardless for changing out trans next winter.
Tks
John

What cables do you use for this conversion? Anyone have a part number or a link?

I cannot tell anything about the merc trans or the electrical part of that transmission,,,,but can tell you this.i had those same shifters on my ten meter,,,,,i hated them with a passion.i changed them out with a livorsi control.the cable ends were different and the dash hole had to be inlarged,,,,,other than that that's all I can tell you other than you will like the new shifter better.
