Default Mercruiser steering pump hook up

I am putting in new motors they are hp 500s and the motor with the pump has the blue Mercury pump. It has one hose coming from it and then the bottom connection on the back. My old setup pump had 2 hoses coming from it and then also the one from the resevoir and has a filter plumbed in too. Two questions first: how do i run my lines to this new setup, including the steering cooler on the motor and the filter, also what is the fitting that goes on the lower back of the pump called and what size is it?
thanks

may have to get the pressure line for that engine to get right bends, should be a O-ring type fitting, the other is the return and is 3/8 hose, now they have used some new style pump with different housings on some later model engines, so not sure which you have..post pics ?

I don't know if this is what you need ,but I used one of these http://www.speedwaymotors.com/14mm-t...ump,37233.html
to hook up a power steering pump .

That is what I am looking for I think. Did that screw right into the back of the blue Mercury steering pump?
