Default I switching intake manifold

Hi Guys
I switching intake manifold,a 454 that has a front port right off the water pump right at the top that goes into the front of the intake , a small short hose that's bend on a 90, 1" diameter I think or close to it.
I'm putting on a 500hp dart intake on it and it doesn't have one, it's this okay or do I drill and tap one and put the hose back on there?
Joe

you can or you can cap off the water pump.just drill a 3/16" hole in the thermostat so water can bypass.
