TRS Bellow/Tailstock Replacement Questions
Brought my boat out last weekend and noticed it was bringing on a lot of water into the bilge. Found the leak coming from the inner transom assembly on the port side. Checked the bellow and there is a big hole in it.
So I got 2 new bellows (for both drives) as well as a new tailstock bearing for the port side transmission (Borg Warner trans)
I started by taking off the drive yesterday. There was water in between the rear and forward tailstock bearings and the rear tailstock bearing seemed rough when I tried to rotate it by hand. No problem, I am replacing that anyway. But my concern is the front bearing. If there is water/mud in between the bearings, what are the chances that the front bearing is toast? Really hope not since the whole engine has to come out for that one. Keep in mind it was only letting in water for 2 days until I noticed.
Thanks guys

Sorry to say but the only way you are ever going to know for sure will be to pull the tailstock off that tranny. Coupler will be in that bearing so tailstock will need to be removed to check it.
