On my 242, I removed the baffles but also extended the risers to have them mix exhaust and water inside the transom tips. Having a supercharger helps with the sound

On my 223 LS, I drilled holes in the bottom and through the baffle wall on each side. I ran it like that for 1 season and it still wasn't enough for me so I removed the ST platform last year and installed an aftermarket platform with Hardin Marine tips. She's loud now.
