Funny you mention that. Now tell us why. Just want to see if it lines up with my own experience as others I know of. bosb

I'm betting on a collapsed lifter. Engine sat for 2 years...

Good possibility but I've had engines sit for 20plus years that sat in old cars that got pulled and had no issues. Pour some Lucas in if and run it for a bit. OR dump the oil and put some mobile 1 in it. I wouldn't run that oil. Not a chance. With that said though some do with excellent results.

Pull valve cover and start with a quick valve lash. You'll find it in a hurry if it's a lifter. Get that oil out of there.

I ran royal purple for several years, boats, race car, then had a engine failure in race car that could not figure out why...tech guy looked at crank, asked if we were running RP, he had seen several simular failures and all were running it. he suggested we get away from it, switched to brad penn and not looked back

This would be my guess. I have the same issue with my 502 mag, I heard was sounded like a lifter and took it into the shop. Turns out it was the exhaust.

Dam how is I never have these types of easy fixes. Last one I thought was an easy fix you could literally stick your hand through the oil pan and grab your CRANK. Was a rental car but still... Tic tic bang.

It's called - getting together with old friends - somebody gets bored - somebody fetches a few cases of beer and liquer - fun starts - **** brakes - night in jail - next day sucks.... Story of my life.

To put it mildly. Extremely costly one but priceless.
