You want them as close to 12 o'clock as possible, and fartherst from where the water enters the exhaust.

Welding the inside can be fun but someone with a TIQ welder and a small torch should be able to get it done for you.

I put bungs in both pipes so the sensor is in the other header. Read the link in post #3 and you'll know how it's welded.

Thank you again! I looked at the post very carefully , I'm sure my welder will have no trouble installing the bungs.do you test left and right banks,or are they close enough that testing just one side is good

Typically just one in the odd bank would suffice... that usually is the leaner bank.

I put one in each pipe because I planned on moving to closed loop efi and keep the wideband too. They make a dual channel wideband to monitor both banks which can be handy for keeping an eye on things. Most people just tune it and pull the wideband off though.

That brings me back to an earlier question , is there a sensor that I can insert through the exhaust exit?
