Default 502 timing

What should idle and total timing be set at on a gen 6 502 built to HP500 specs. carb motor. Also fuel pressure on demon 850 carb. Thanks

I'd set the total to 34° and let idle timing fall where it may.what ignition system are you using?

You may want to stay closer to 32 depending on your setup. Initial will be dependent on you distributor and if that's adjustable then cam plays into it. Demons can take higher fuel pressure I think up to 11ish + psi but I have mine regulated at 9 at the moment.

34 deg total advance,8 lbs max fuel pressure.i would set fuel pressure at 7 lbs.

Yea you're right checked mine this morning and wasn't as high as I thought, 7.5. Demon manual suggests 6-7.5.

Dumb question, and since the question has already been answered here, is there much difference from 32* to 34*? I have pretty much the same package and set it at 32* just to be well within the limits while I sort out the carb.
