Getting some good advice here. 5k plus or should do it depending on how far you go with it. Just remember there bigger isn't always better with your 330's you have in mind. 502 I'd be looking at good flowing 305-315 heads. There's some great running marine engines dyno proven 540' with 305's. Big gets lazy unless you have big inch.

What 330 c.c heads are you using ? The stock GM rectangles, or a dart 330 cnc iron eagle ? Brodix?

Id take a 330cnc dart iron eagle over a 315cc edelbrock performer head any day of the week . The dart will run circles around in even in a 502ci.

I have ported oval merlin heads on both engines, but would love 2 sets of Darts with 1.7:1 rockers.

I am thinking of having the same cam installed in my 1999 502MPI (Im not sure what gen my motor is) over the winter while I am having the top end freshened up. My motor is currently bone stock, with plans of having my factory heads ported and polished with new valve train. I am undecided as far as which exhaust set up I am going to go with as well...It's between a set of Lightning manifolds or a set of Hardin Bravo HP's with the taller risers. I am worried about reversion with the Lightnings but I am not sure if the taller risers on the Hardins will fit under my sun pad (99 Baja 25 Outlaw)
I am also thinking about installing a 500EFI intake manifold too (for $500), but the one I am looking at does not come with the fuel rails, computer, sensors etc...its just the manifold. My concern with this option is all of the additional costs for the fuel rails and etc and where to go for those parts. I found some mercury rails but they were another $500 just for the rails...F' that! I am not wanting to waste an additional $500+ just to make that intake manifold work. Also, will I need bigger injectors?
Realistically, my goal is around the 500hp mark and would like to keep a fairly simple budget as well, since I will also have to re-prop the boat after all of the above and have my computer reflashed/tuned.
Thank You for all and any input on the above
