33zx donzi vs. 353 Formula

Looking at purchasing either a 33zx or a 353 formula. Any advice on the differences between these two boats. Will be using mostly in the great lakes. Thanks

I assume you are looking at the 353 FASTech? what year for both boats?

The 353 is probably Formula's most popular boat. For some reason it seems a lot bigger than the 33 Donzi. Customer service when you need parts should be a whole lot better with Formula. (I've had terrible luck with Donzi). Formula has a great ride, use all top quality materials, etc. I don't think you will be disappointed by it.

Formula is a top notch company with EXCELLENT customer service. I believe the head room in the Donzi will be higher though (check the specs). Not sure what the ride quality is like for the Donzi but the Formula will ride very well.

...sooner than I think...I hope...
As much as I love Donzi's, I think you'll have a blast with the 353.

Shanghied! 2004 Donzi 33 ZX
Both boats are excelent boats; The 353 FasTech is definetly longer and lighter then the Donzi 33ZX. The big difference between the boats are The Donzi 33 is a High Boat that gives you the headroom in the cabin, She is like a crossbreed between a cruiser and a Performance Boat Great stay aboard boat with Microwave Oven, Fridge, some with AC full Head and pleanty of room to walk around also she is a wide beam boat at 9'2 she is very stable in rough water with a top speed of 72-74 with 496s.
The 353 FasTech is sleeker, lower and lighter she is a solid running boat that gives you a longer nose and more of a Performance boat ride, great in rough water and has a 8'6 Beam top speed is about 2 mph faster then the 33ZX but remember she is 35 in length compared to 33 and 2ft in a boat is a lot. If you are buying used then warranty is not an issue and if you are looking at a 33ZX the boat was not made after 2004.. The 35 ZR took the 33 ZX place. but there will be a big price difference between a Formula and a Donzi on the used market. If you are looking for Comfort the 33ZX is the way to go if your looking to run Poker runs he Formula is the way to go. I own a Donzi and I have no issues with my boat I look at this way its more of a personal preffrence.
