I own a 2000 28 zx with the 350 mags in very good shape. here is the true scoop on the mph. this boat will do 67-69 mph stock.....thats it. unless your with the wind, almost zero gas and wiegh 25lbs. however, this boat is more than ready to accept big hp. by the way it is for sale

you have the older hull, your deck is more rounded. No its not a bad hull when they went to twins and added more hp and the boat chined alot.. When the 26ZX came out they molded the 28ZX out of the same mold but made it longer. She was able to run the Scorpion Package.

My boat has the twin 350 set up. I'm not sure what chin walking is? The boat will run 68-69 most days and 70 on a good one. At those speeds she tracks straight as an arrow.

Chine walking is where the boat "falls" left and then "falls" right. This is due to so much of the boat being out of the water that it can't balance itself up straight anymore and it falls from port-chine to starboard-chine and back. It can be kinda scary and if you have a ZX that goes fast enough, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Downright crazy at 90+. You can't snatch the power back and can't drive through. You just have to walk it down. Tabs help keep it settled though.
