1993 271 sr-1 formula
1998 donzi 28 zx ?'s

Looking @ 1998 donzi 28zx w/ twin 350 mpi's is this a good boat. I'm coming from a formula 271 sr-1 non-stepped hull. I wound what the ride like and if I what to add power to this is it going to be ahand full above 70+? I love the Looks of the boat and I 'm usually brand loyal so this is a little different to me.Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 99 28zx will run 71 WOT , my boat wll chine walk at top speed but with the amount of seat time i had i can feel it comeing on and control it with a little stearing input
for its size it handles the water pretty good at LOTO but you cannot run with the bigger boats in the rough stuff but seems to work better than other boats in its size range.
I know it is night and day diffrent than my buddys 27 Baha
he cannot take that thing where i can go.
Its a great boat.

Thanks Donzi Dude! Ya my formula can't hang w/ larger boats in the real rough stuff aether. I dont like chine walk though. I wonder w/ it would do w/ some 496's?

These boats wont take the twin big blocks it throws the balance off too much.

2000 donzi 28zx
2000 zx

I could never understand why people say that the 28zx chime walks at high speeds. mine will run 71-72 and is rock steady, if I had the $$$ I would drop in whipples and not worry about it that so much. I think that issue was started by non owners and was repeated way too many times. Or my boat just happens to be a freak.

Bingo, I have heard that they like to bounce around a little big if you shift the rotation for an extra few mph.

If you are asking me , my props turn out and boat is as it was when it left the factory, My boat has tabs and not kplanes and after seeing some pictures of my boat in a recent poker run I had no idea that it ran so high in the water , the sides (chines) are several inches in the air even in the back. The taps likley are not even touching the water at top speed.I beleive some k planes would be the answer to the chine walk

They will probably settle it down some. I had a K plane upgrade done on my 26ZX. It was well worth it.

Afterwards I don't know why they even put the bennetts on in the first place.
