Default Revolution 4's on a 28ZX 350 mag mpi?

Has anyone tried a Rev 4 on this boat? I want to try a 4-blade and am running a 25p mirage plus now at 68/5000rpms. The merc prop calculator suggests this prop as it is about the same diameter as the mirage plus and is available in a 25p. The bravo 1 is a 26p and a larger diameter.

I dunno but the 26p Bravo I is basically a 25P. The stated sizes run down to 22. Everybody I have talked to that ran a 4 blade liked the handling ok but said that it slowed the boat down a good bit.

If you could get your hands on a set of demo props it is always worth a try.

Thanks. I've read the threads about the speed loss with a Bravo 1 prop. I just thought maybe it would be better with the Rev 4 since it is a smaller diameter and so you have less metal in the water. Might be worth a try.

I can see that. It is always worth a try. I would be surprised if one of the Donzi.net guys has not tried it yet. Some of them show up here from time to time. Maybe one of them will chime in.

I run 26" Bravo 1's on mine. it's 6.2 MPI boat though, so a bit more power. you'll lose top end a good bit, but cruising will increase. I like the way it runs with them it is super easy to drive and the props never blow out.

I've been looking for a used set of Rev's in 25P but they are not easy to find that large and don't want to invest in a new set of props right now.

I'm going to lab the 26's eventually and hope I get past the hump and get more speed.

I would have tried them on my zx, but with the power I had there was no rev 4 big enough.. It may work on some of the stock power ones, at least it is probably worth a try.. I wish they would have made it in a larger pitch.. Jamie / Lakeside

A friend of mine has a set of labbed 26 bravos he is not using that I am going to try in the spring. I'll keep my eyes open for a used set of 25 rev. 4's. Have you guys tried spinning yours in on this hull? From the stickers on the transom it looks like they all come from the factory spinning out.

Rev 4's have big ears! LOT of metal there (rake is what makes them so big)

I can't post pics (registered member) but I can tell you I have 5 sets of props in my garage and the Rev 4's are by far the biggest ears of the bunch.

25 QVI-X, 26 QVI-X, 25 Rev 4, 24 B1's, 26 B1's

My buddy owns a 28 Scorpion Donzi. He runs 3 blades and 4 blades- I'll check with him to see what flavor they are.

Hmmmm...... Don't know what a smaller diameter higher rake prop will do to my top end. Mark, I've been told the hydromotives are a little faster on the top end, is this what you have found?

Which Hydros? they make very different styles.

I'd like to hear your results on the labbed Bravos. When you run them please take a mental note on cruising speed too. My stock Bravos have incredible cruise.
