Late Fees Donzi 38ZR 700's
38 ZR with 700's Pro-Con

I might be making the step up to a 2007 38ZR with 700's and NXT's. Boat has 125 hrs and has been run pretty hard. I knew the owner. I can buy the boat really right, what are some of the pros-cons of this boat and would I be looking at a rebuild on the motors like the 850's etc. Is Donzi still in bus? I need some odd/in small parts? Thanks for the help....

I would say the engines are ok.. cons... no usable cabin, low freeboard, rigging sub par.. pros great ride, great looking boats..

I think you can get parts.. I guess if the price is "really right" go for it..!!

Do a leak down test and check the headers for leaks, if everything is good you should be OK for another 200 hours on the motors, even after that you should only have to do the top end.
Don't know about the drives

Show us pics if you go for it.

Good Luck!

Why do I see that with this 2007 38ZR that the motors are stag opposite to the 2008-2009 yrs.

The 38ZR has always been staggered, The 38ZR Comp was originally side by side, not sure when they switched to staggered.

was in a 38zrc w/ 700mercs doing 109 in sarasota(around same yr model). boat ran great, turned great, and felt good the whole time. depending on price there are alot of great deals on the market under 200k right now, just need to find what fits your style of boating and the right sales person/broker who can find you a deal where you wont get burned when selling.

No I understand they have been stag, but the newer ZR's have the port motor opposite of the older models.
