Default 38 ZR Owners- Prop question

I have to replace a prop I broke, question for 38ZR owners- Anybody running diffusers on their props? I am running 34P Maximus with ITS, no diffusers, looking to get a little help with planing, thought I would see if anybody had tried diffusers. Thanks in advance!

You are better off NOT to run with defusers. Call Teague, they will help you out.

My first question to you is ITS or no.. I have sold more 38ZRs an tested all props. Diffusers work on a non ITS boat but hurt top end. maximus 34 Pitch? did you try a set of 32s.. 34 seems a little large if your a 525 boat. Herring props have faster top end but also drag on plaining. The 38ZR blows out at 2200-2500 rpms. Keep your dives in and your tabs at neutral 3 or 5 the most on start ease the throttles foward and don't push her once you feel the slip push throttle a tab more and you will feel the grab. once you feel the grap throttle down, drives and tabs up.. keep tabs a neutral for a better ride.

another hint on the 38 zr.. they dont back up well..if you have the long 380 trim tabs you can use them for backing. drop one side or the other... that is the only way i found to get the nose to spin around..

Thanks for the response guys! I have 525s w ITS, and the props on it were from the factory, but are definately 34p labbed maximus props. The best I have gotten her was 88.7 mph on the gps, running about 5050-5100 rpms on flat water w 2 people and 3/4 tank gas. BBlades has them now, they thought putting diffusers (or part a diffuser) might help a little, but they would need to be tried to see if they really helped. I think based on what you guys say ill go without the diffusers. Just curious, what rpm should I hit at WOT?

5250-5300 is the limiter

Yes, noticed they dont turn on a dime when I got stuck at the end of a skinny one way channel, I think it took a 30 point turn to get turned around

Wow, great idea. I'll have to wait all winter to try it out!
