28 ZXO purchase (input, suggestion, what to look for?)
Im in the market and looking at a 2007 28 ZXO. It has twin 6.2 engines with bravo 1 drives I believe. Can anyone give me further information into this boat? Any and all opinions are fine and I appreciate your time!
Thanks

I own a 2003 Donzi zxo, and love it. I bought it on consignment from a local dealer. I was a repeat customer. This was my third purchase in 8 years. I was able to personally get all over this boat for hours, inside and out! They preformed a compression test and leak down for me. Also they scanned the motors as well, no problem. Prior to me purchasing it the owner had them do a complete service to the Bravo 1 drives. I bought this in the winter months, so a water test was out of the question. I did have a couple of problems though. The biggest on was the prior owner had a GPS speedo installed. When he disconnected the old speedo, he did a poor job of capping the water line that ran from the drive to the speedo gauge; therefore I had water in the bilge. After a few trips to the river with the service man, that was taken care of. Also I had a rotten hose that ran from the from bilge pump, under the mid cabin to a discharge fitting that was on the port side of the boat. That was a real “pain in the ass” to change, per the service man. Again because they were a customer service oriented dealership they were more than fair with the few repairs that need to be addressed. Any other questions let me know. Buy the way I wanted a mid cabin, and love this boat!

Speaking merely from a performance and handling aspect, I love the boat. While ours is a closed deck ZX (not the ZXO), the hull is the same and is basically a worry-free drive (no spin outs to worry about going into a hard turn). While we have the twin 350 mags as opposed to the twin 6.2's, I believe from what other owners have experienced they like them just fine. Good luck in your purchase,

The didn't build many 2007's as far as I can tell. The 6.2's are great engines, my 2008 is powered the same. I have a couple complaints here and there but overall it's a great boat. If you want to hear about any oddities just post back and I'll give you some heads ups on some common issues you may run into.
Also let me know what props are on your boat. I'm very curious.

A few pics
Well the survey is in: A few problems were found, but nothing that serious. Most items are probably power problems due to corrosion, and it could use some cleanup in the engine bay. Wrapping up the paperwork, and ready to get her to her new home! Here are some of the pics.
