Default 28zx windshield(windscreen?)

I am in the process of trying to sell my Stingray 230sx and upgrade to a 28zx. My question is, some of the boats I look at have the glass windshield and some have the formed fiberglass windshield. Does the different windshield indicate a different package or was it simply ordered that way and luck of the draw? I like the look of the formed fiberglass over the traditional glass windshield so if anyone has any input I would appreciate it.

Also would be interested in seeing if anyone has a line on a nice 28 for sale.

Thanks
Josh

tHE '98 AND '99 28X MODELS had a fiberglass windscreen with no windshield/plexiglass combination. the 2000 to 2008 could get either the half n half (windshield / windscreen like on Dukedonzi's) or the solid windshield with frame which is common on the 28ZXO's and some later 28ZX's. our boat originally had the half n half but was damaged. the previous owner replaced it with a solid fiberglass windscreen (supposedly used on 38ZX's) and i have yet to see another one like it. personally, I like the looks better than the original, but the half n half definitely deflects the wind much better out of your face than what we currently have. i don't know of any decent condition 28zx's for sale right now. good luck in your search, we still love our boat after 5 years of ownership this coming memorial day!

Hey Tom,

Could you post a picture of your boat I would like to see what it looks like with the solid fiberglass screen.

Josh, I feel like Tom, this is the 6th summer we have had our boat and i still really like it. About twice a summer when the lake gets "really rough" i think maybe it's time for a bigger boat but then i pull up to the fuel dock...

Sigma Motorsports : 2010 AOTH X -Trueser : AOTH_XX_710_800x600

here is one shot.

another.

okay, the last one is not my most flattering, just look at the windscreen, haha.

Sigma Motorsports : 2010 AOTH X -Trueser : AOTH_XX_537_800x600

in the foreground is my buddy Mike's (Trueser) 28ZX Scorpion with the half n half and in the background is Barbi and I's with the solid fiberglass. his is a 2000 and ours is a 2002. come to think of it, i believe Mikes boat is for sale. keep in mind it is a scorpion boat so the price is gonna be more than a regular ZX. He is also not in a 'desperate sale' mode. He may be in the high 50's low 60's range, not totally for sure. he's also in the chicagoland area.

Josh,
I went from a 2005 Stingray 230SX with a 496HO to a 2006 28ZX with twin 350 mag mpi's. It was the best decision I ever made and love the Donzi. I have had it since 2008. Mine has the plexi windscreen and I really like it as the curve in the top deflects the wind nicely. A couple of pics.

And one of the old Stingray!

Thanks. PPI in Sarasota did it. Complete new redesigned side panels and all new foam and vinyl. Great guys to work with and their quality is second to none.

Hey Fishin, I agree, fishin sucks... sorry wanted to say that! That windscreen looks nice but I bet you get quite a bit of wind in the face.

Red, love the interior.
