Re: 1974 24 foot Doral for sale
What do you want to know NJ?
I have known the boat for years. My friend's father was a member of my yacht club, and my friend was one of my sponsors.
He is very good mechanically and owns a shop.
The owner is one of the few people that I'll let touch my boat and truck.
But he bought a big family cruiser last year.
I'll check on hours and stuff.
The boat rides great on Lake Erie. It's heavy (like you would expect a 1974 to be), and a great wave crusher. It sounds awesome. Runs great. Super solid. I have run this boat, and been on it in heavy chop. Cuts through 3 and 4 foot waves like no other 24 foot boat. The way that the bow is flared, you don't get wet.
It has upgrade engine parts like intakes, ignition system, cams. It has aftermarket exhausts, I want to say Stainless, and thru hulls. I have never been on a boat that shifted as smoothly. Made me love Volvo drives. They are set up counter-rotating.
I replaced all the gauges myself last spring with Farias.
It has the stand up bolsters like you would expect in a Doral of this era.
He had the upholstery redone in 2003, including the seats and the sunpad.
The bottom was redone in 2003 also, due to some blisters.
It's never been sunk or anything stupid.
Still has the original Donzi emblems etc.
Doesn't have a name or anything painted on it.
If I had the room I would buy this boat for this money.
But I'm already storing a 26.

Got pics. Some didn't make it. Some did. Here's what made it. He's resending the rest.

I'm sorry. He sold it and I don't get over here much.
I should have posted sooner.
Sorry about that.

Re: 1974 24 foot Doral for sale
Ok... the guy didn't have the money when it was time to pick it up.
The boat is clean, tight, and ready for the water.
It is now for sale again.
I told him to take some side pics.
On a trailer, ready for the water.
Sea trial not a problem.
