Well the story out of Dubai is...race was postponed due to high winds on Friday. The run does happen and takes place on Saturday only to be cancelled. I said WTF was that all about...high winds really it is an offshore race held inside a breakwater.... and then cancellation because the favorites flip or blow engines???? Really!
X-Cat official website lists the high winds as 12-15 knot winds that is 7 MPH are you friggen kidding me.
This during the time our boys Omar and Gary were kicking azz and running hard looking for that 1st/2nd place podium which would put them in first place overall in the points and what happens. The race is cancelled because of a camera man wow is all I have to say. I was not there but it really smacks of politics or insider BS...maybe I'm wrong but my intuition is usually right.
No points awarded and everyone must do a make up race in April. What are we in grade school....the WPPA kinda does what it likes...????
Guess we will wait and see what happens...best wishes and fast propellers go out to Omar and Gary....hope your at the top of the podium.

Very interesting and not liking the fact that the series is going all flat water. If you want to race in FLAT WATER buy a Tunnel Boat and race F1. I say bring the whole series to KW in November and see what happens

I had a typo above. The conversion is as follows:
15 knots = 17.2616917 mph.
Big deal, I don't think 17 MPH winds are that bad for an offshore race. Well the last two races are in April.
We will see what happens!

Well it seems Omar and Gary are now in second place and the X-Cat Series is up for grabs at the final race.
I'm glad they [Mouawad] got the points and moved into 2nd place in the standings. All the pompoms aside they gotta go out and drive a perfect race for the final...they are capable and all one can hope for is rough weather...it might just change it up enough for them to take the win.
Wish I was there for the final it's gonna be epic.

Congratulations Omar and Gary:
The X-CAt Series for 2012 is now in the books. The latest Doug Wright X-Cat race boat sponsored by Team Mouawad captured 2nd place at the final race. This series featured the best outboard teams in the world. It really is the Superbowl of outboard racing.
Once again, Congratulations you guys raced the propellers off that boat...outstanding job across the board.
