Strakes falling off?

These boats have been on the top of my list for a replacement of my center console and I am currently trying to put a deal together for #2. Before I get on a plane and fly down to drive it and of course pay for a survey to be done can someone who has driven the boat tell me how fast they really go with 525's. Also, not that I am douting anyone but have the strakes really fallen off the boats? Just wondering if I should go back to the original sit down boat I was looking for, the Donzi comp. Any opinions or first hand knowledge are appreciated.

I think Dreamer was trying to put a deal together for that boat and ended up not going through due to lack of performance of the boat. I would PM him.

#2 is a really nice boat with very few hours. You should see mid nineties with the herrings it was set up for.

As for the strakes. The ARPRO race boat had rear strakes added at the factory to add some transom lift for the #6's. They were bonded to the bottom after construction in the mold. After two or three rough races one of them did start to pull at the bonding seams. There was NO structural damage what so ever. The Craig sent two guys over to make a reapir and they are still in place today.
