Default I gained 200rpm with new XR reman....!

How is this possible??

I blew my XZ drive a couple of weeks ago, and replaced it with a reman XR from merc. I am now turning 5500 rpm?

My last drive turned out to have the small gears in an XZ drive (different story).

Maybe the drive was in bad enough shape to cause this?

I just bought a new prop too :-(

On the good side, I think I'm faster :-)

Is the new drive dual water PU and your old drive single water PU?

Was told by many racers (Even Reggie himself) that the DWPU lower is faster.

Could have been the new prop and not the drive...

I've seen brand new props out of the mercury box that spin different RPMS.

I guess I didn't explain myself enough. I had the new prop on the old drive before it broke. GPS'd at 84 mph turning 5300. Now I'm turning 5500 ! One would have to asume I am now faster !!

I'm just surprized thats all....

Maybe, maybe not. If one was single pickup and this one is dual, it may cause a little more turbulence and increase your slip.

Also, are you using the same gear oil as before? A lighter weight synthetic can make a little difference too.

Both were dual pick ups, and I went from Amsoil Synthetic, to Merc drive oil (drive came filled) .

I recommend the Mercury Hi Perf gear lube. You do not want a synthetic low friction oil due to the clutch.
