Default Bravo rotation gear use?

Which prop rotation uses the lower gear for forward? Prop running clockwise or CCW from the back? oh, standard rotation engine. I can do it the hard way once I get back to my shop but would like to know.

In either rotation, the lower gears are used for forward. They simply spin in the opposite direction, for left or right handed props. What controls the lower gears direction is the upper gear set. On right handed props, the bottom gear of the upper set is forward, the top gear of the upper set is reverse.

I have been spinning a Max Machine right handed, will it do anything to it if I spin it left handed? Having to run with the port trim tab about half way down. Thanks

Providing it was set up correctly, you can you can spin it the other way. Just make sure you have a good top cap for left handed operation.

Max Maxhine Worxs out of Florida, known for high performance built it new, I bought their cast aluminum top cap ( about 2" thick) and drive shower they recomended. Pushing about 800 hp, little scared to reverse rotation in fear of breaking drive.

R/H rotation ( clockwise) uses the bottom gear for forward.

Thats what I thought too. Thanks. I picked up a spare cheap that is in decent shape except for the upper gear clutch surface and upper clutch surface. Ill use it as a spare for the Stbd. drive only. Ive got others I can use for the Port.

Sorry about that, I guess I misunderstood the way you wrote that post. Sounded to me like you ment the lower gearset.
