Mercruiser II TR & TRS Parts Availability
What is the current situation on obtaining new parts for TR and TRS drives?
Are all the usual 'consumable' parts such as gears, bearings, shafts, seals, trim rams, bellows and gaskets still readily available?
If not, what is readily available and what is not?
I've read through a few related posts and some time ago it was suggested that Mercruiser IS making and retailing parts that were once NLA. Can this be confirmed?
Thanks in advance.

Not all of the parts are avail for them. Some of the stuff that is still available, is not as good of a quality as it used to be. And some of ths stuff that is available is just as it was new..

Most of the TRS drive stuff is avalable from Merc. except cases, Check Mel Rigs for new cases. I have spare TRS and lots of parts gears sets, shafts, etc. That I will be selling but not till the the Avanti I have sale is gone. Don't know about transom plates or gimbals houseing and trim cyl. as I haven't looked up any of those parts recently.

Konrad Marine has direct replacement complete drive units and transom assemblies for the TR and TRS. The Konrad units can handle way more power than the TR/TRS. Warranteed to 800 hp.
The Konrad 520 is the TR replacement.
The Konrad 540 PRS replaces the Merc TRS

Kurt is right.. Konrad would be the way to go if you want a replacement that will blow away the OEM.. If you ran those you probably wont have a drive problem again period.. If they interest you we Im a dealer & installer for them. I have been VERY pleased with all of my dealings with Konrads products..
Their rep is really great too. Jamie

Yes but if you use a Konrad, it will probably be the last drive you will buy for it.. Jamie
. One of our installs below, had blown 509's 625hp & went 80's gps with ease, then he upgraded 2 more times & now is 8-900hp & easily running 90's gps..

I am just saying ,,,there are alot of Boaters with small budget, they can't afford a Konrad or even 2 on there boat,,,thats wy i sell used TRS stuff and it all works .
Hell at almost 16K u can spend a little more and buy #6's.
And even they CAN be blown up.

Yes, many companies claim they wont break & you are correct they all can & do break at times. I can however say from personal experience that the Konrad units are very durable. They are kind of priced between the Xr & #'6s. So it is really a lot of drive for the price..
The rest is just me being a smart azz ball buster.. lol
Have a great weekend.. Jamie / Lakeside

So it sounds like other than getting lower casings and OEM quality gear sets, pretty much everything else is readily available.
What is the fair market value of a complete II-TR or II-TRS setup including bellhousing, a 10-18 trans, transom shield, gimbals, trim pump and standard rotation outdrive in good working condition with no corrosion or other damage?
