Default Losing fluid in upper!!

Hi guys
I have a new bravo xr upper drive. We have installed and ran the unit, but both times we have ran it it looses fluid out of the upper into the resevoir. I filled the whole unit with the screw in tool that goes in the lower unit. Everything was done to instructions, but I am stilling losing the fluid. Do I have an air pocket somewhere or could something be wrong with the valve going back to the resevoir? Thank you in advance.

Yes the reservoir is increasing. It is pushed out of the upper and it goes into the reservoir. I have pulled the upper top plate and the fluid is down. The increase in the reservoir is about 1 to 1 1/2".

I'm actually surprised you're not blowing seals. The cap on the reservoir is designed to let air in, but not out.

I would suspect that you did have an air pocket in the drive lube when refilling.

I would drain and refill, but do not remove the top plug on the upper. Instead remove the drive reservoir cap. Pump the gear lube in slowly until you start to see the reservoir filling.
