What's the Trim Limit for TRS Drives?
Anyone know what the trim out operating limit is for TRS drives? What's the spec in inches from the mounting bolts at the back of the trim cylinder to the front bolt at max trim?

Drive has to stay in guides on gimbal ring. Best way to set them is to drive boat and trim to where its works best and dont move them. Then you set the limit to that point or maybe a little higher.

Thanks but that won't work for me- my limit switches don't work. I was hoping someone know a measurement like I described above so I could trim it out that far and then see where it is on the cable indicators. I've seen the measurement for the bravo somewhere, but I can't find it in the Merc TRS manual-

I usually watch my digital GPS when cruising, and start trimming out slowly until i get the best cruising speed and ride quality for the water conditions. usually overtrimming does nothing except scrub speed and make a boat handle like crap. If you have to trim the hell out of it to get any decent speed, you may need different props. just my opinion.

My boat likes a LOT of trim so I disconnected the things. I think I go as high as 7 when running WOT but I never really looked. I just use them to glance and see if things are working every once in a while.

I understand everyone's point, and I also trim according to what feels best at any given speed. When I'm doing a wide open run, I trim until the GPS speed stops increasing. The reason for my question is that my boat (Formula 357) also likes a lot of trim, so I'm just trying to make sure I'm not damaging the u-joints by going beyond their maximum operational angle. If picklenjim or anyone could post that dimension, I'd appreciate it-
