I don't think there should be no problem ! My boat was out of the factory with twin 454 - 420 HP with TRS set-up, back in 1989... I don't think the 5 more HP will bother...

of course, the HP are not the problem. i ask about the assamble of engine and tranny. because the original 420HP
engines are much older than a 496... are there any problems?

you sure need the bell housing above the ring gear, plus a reverse starter to goes on top of that bell housing. besides that... I think (can't guarantee) you should be good to go. But I guess you already have that bell housing ! unless the bolt pattern does not fit the engine ????

i have a inboard bell housing off of a 496 with flywheel and starter less then 20 hrs on the parts if you need shoot me a pm. should have no problem with the trs set up

all of the chevy bellhousing bolt atterns are the same. (interchangable) you can always remove the bellhousing from the tranny and try it before you install it in the boat.
