Bravo Transom Assebly vs. HD Transom Assembly

What are the differences and has anyone tried to upgrade they're Bravo to a HD affordably?

I know the pins are heavier, but is the ring and helmet heavier as well? My lower pin on both drives is sloppy and I'm pulling them off to put boxes on, so I thought if I could upgrade while I'm at it I would. New assemblies aren't in the budget.

Any suggestions?

I still have 3 available. Sold 3 last week. I believe besides the bigger pins that the ring is thicker. The ones I have are fresh water and tight. 2 are still on my boat, coming off next week.

There is an upgrade kit, includes the gimbal ring, pins, bell housing & a few other pieces,

Most of the wear is normaly in the gimbal ring/bushings itself, so this might take care of it, please remind me to look up the part number Monday if you are intersted (my memory is shot)

I would like some more info on the kit as well, my Swivel pin and seal are both shot, was considering going to an HP transom assembly if its a "bolt on" deal? but, if I can buy a kit to upgrade the "weak" parts in a standard Bravo I would probably go that route!

Thanks!
Michael
