Drive experts: Gear repair kit for XR - is this right part#>?

I took out a lower gear on my XR drive. I see that Merc sells complete gear repair kits with gears, seals, and everything needed to rebuild the lower gear case.

I have a 1.5 ratio DWP XR - is 43-803081T1 the correct part # for that drive?
Do I also need the seal kit #28-815565QA1 too?

Or it is more economical to buy a complete new lower (DWP)?

Thanks for your help.

Bill,
the kit looks like it includes all the lower bearings, seals, etc. It gives you the shim kits and everythiing you should need to reassemble your lower.
I am not sure if that is the proper number for the 1.5 XR ratio. Where did you find that number?

The part number 28-815565QA1 doesnt match anything.. But 28-815565 is the propshaft seals that is included with that kit.
Hope that helps.

I got it out of the big merc/quick silver book.

Dick - what is your number? I'll be wanting to talk to you about the drive and maybe sending it to you with all my parts (and treated parts)

Bill, that is the standard Bravo gear kit, will not work with an XR. There is no kit for the XR, have to buy the pieces.

If it is for the standard B1, then the bearing for the bearing carrier will be wrong. The gears wont work because of the larger propshaft splines.
