Faded Bravo?

What would cause a 6 year old drive to fade like this? In this photo the drive does not look to be in poor conditon just the shine is completly gone.

Sitting in the water for a long time. It looks like it could just be chalky build up which is caused by minerals in hard water. If so some lime away, muratic acid or toilet bowl cleaner will take most of it off.

Hit it with a polishing compound such as Merguiars Scratch X or 3M Finesse It II. Mine does this after sitting in the water all summer. A little of the above polish makes it look nice and gloss shiny again.

be sure it's not running too hot, that will cause the chalky build-up too.....
