I am doing Raylar upgrades as well and just took my new B1X off and replaced it with a complete IMCO SC drive. IMO the life of a B1X will be limited with that power.

it should be fine, I ran a b1 first gen 88 drive that had to have 400 or 500 hours on it with 585hp to 650hp from 95 to 05 never broke. I would get on plane easy like 3000rpm. once on plane I would floor it from 3500 wfohere and there it was fine. b1 x has a steel tower in it already. oh from 1988 to 1994 that drive was run with a 454 330hp and in 93 a 502 390hp .
