oh I have no issue pulling the motor..pulled it 4 times last year..just really didnt wanna do it again..lol..but I guess since if I pull the motor, I might as well do a cam swap too right??

My concern with doing it the other way was that if I were to screw it up, then I would have to pull the engine anyways AND buy another transom assembly!!!

It is pretty simple if you use the template from jrmarine he gives you step by step

I really think Merc. should have designed an access panel in the front. It wouldn't have been hard to do. When you consider the design and maintainence it is a no brainer. This is a repair trick that I actually would consider an upgrade if it is done right. In the future you can do most maintainence to the tranom without pulling the engine.
