Default Bravo XR propshaft carrier?

I am currently putting XR shafts and carriers in my cases and was wondering why i have 1 red carrier and 1 blue one. They seem to differ by about 1/8 of an inch in length.I just noticed this. The blue one is more like the stock ones i removed but any info would help.

The Red one is probably an Imco piece. Blue is Merc. Is the bearing on the propshafts different? If it is Imco/Merc they will be a different bearing. When you install the retainer nut, becareful the lugs on the tool dont contact the drain hole on the Imco carrier. It will gough it and it wont seal when you put the plug in..
Hope that helps.

Default Thanks for the reply.

The bearings on the propshafts are the same. The red carrier is about 1/8 inch longer than the blue one.The blue carrier came out of a complete lower so i know it will fit in mine.i was wondering if i could just cut the red one down to the same length as the blue one.I have a lathe.the red one i bought as parts so i have no ides what it is.

Red one is IMCO and has a larger rear bearing in it,you will have to change the bearing on the propshaft.

The IMCO's were shimmed instead of a load ring, thats why they are longer
