Default Lengthening Skegs?

Is there any advantage to lengthening the skegs on my lowers? Imco SC's with -2 shorties, one of my skegs has some minor rounding wear on the bottom lower leading corner and I was going to add some material back to it to match the other. Boat handles fine, gets a little loose at about 105 and up. Thinking maybe a few more inches of skeg might help?

FWIW... I lengthened mine 1 3/4" and my boat seems to handle pretty well. Then again, i never drove it with this setup without them lengthened.
24' Skater with twin ls's and bravos. Propshafts 1 1/2" above the bottom.
