Gimble #6
It seems i have broken the gimble on my #6 drive. Not sure how i did that. This is an older 6 built around 2000 what is the cost of the part approximately and how much labor is involved. Oh Boy. I thgt i made it through the season with a little skin left. this is a 36 foot skater with 900's built in 2000.
Thanks

If it is the gimble ring, the dealer cost from Mercury is about $2300, retail is over $3G's. The hard part is getting the old one off if it's that old or been run in salt a bunch. Some people choose to get a whole transom assembly (Cobra has them) and send them back yours for them to rebuild for a credit. Call Randy @ Cobra and see what he has...

Assuming I removed the drive and placed the broken gimbal on a bench. How many labor hours should I pay to convert one to the other? I assume I need a qualified mercury tech to do that part?
