For sure looking at Arenson I don't think props will be a problem.

So far so good.

Thank You for your input! I see you have a 38 lightning 575sci twins. How many hours on your drives?

Thank You for you input! This is exactly what I do, but I back off throttle to about 3200 and my boat will stay on plane at about 18 mph pulling a wake board or shier a little fast with less tabs.

Could you tell me more about your boat/engine/drive combo please?

30+ hours

Sure, not many yet. I have faith though. I'd get 100 hours out of the SC's. The SCX gears are way larger so they "should" last longer.
I did baby the SC's.
I don't kill the SCX's.
Drives in, tabs down, keep the RPM at 4K til the boat comes up and back off the throttles to about 2500RPM, tabs up to neutral, drives up past neutral, 40MPH, lean into the throttle decent, see roost, trim drives back to neutral while throttling up, 75MPH, throttle up to a hun and have some coffee.

Arneson would be the way to go. While running hard, it's one less thing you need to worry about.
